Features

This item is a cover for a futon quilt. It does not contain any cotton filling. Please make sure you are ordering the correct item.

Fabric - 100% linen woven with fine 60-count yarn

Opening - Wide side zipper for easy insertion and removal of the futon quilt. The cover fully encloses the futon quilt.

The fabric has a light, refined texture with the natural breathability and dry touch of linen. A special finishing process gives it an unusually soft and relaxed feel.

  • 100% linen
  • Fine 60-count yarn
  • Plain weave
  • Thread count: 114
  • Breathable and comfortable
  • Soft, relaxed texture

Yukinoshita (No. 25001) and Ecru (No. 25002) are undyed.

Because linen is made from flax, its natural color can vary slightly from year to year depending on growing conditions. Subtle color differences are a natural characteristic of the material.

Size Information

For our Quilts (Kake futons), including our thinner quilts, choose the Quilt Cover with the same size name. For example, a Single Quilt Cover fits our Single Quilt.

The Quilt Cover is made to the same length and width as the corresponding Quilt (Kake futon) fabric size.

As size names can vary by country, please check the measurements below before ordering.

About Iwamoto Senni

Founded in 1948, Iwamoto Senni is a Japanese maker of bedding and sleepwear, including futon covers and pajamas.

The company operates its own sewing factories in Kyoto and Shiga, handling each step from fabric development and design to cutting, sewing, and shipping.

Rather than keeping finished products in stock, each item is made after an order is placed. From covers for traditional inns to sleepwear for individual customers, every piece is carefully made in Japan with comfort and everyday use in mind.

How It’s Made

This product carries the registered NIPPON LINEN trademark (Teikoku Sen-I Co., Ltd.), certifying that it is made from French linen and that all weaving, dyeing, and finishing processes are carried out in Japan.

Kyo Hanna Linen is finished using a Cool Crush process, in which the fabric is gently worked to loosen the fibers and create a softer, fuller texture while preserving the natural character of linen.

Most colors are produced using a natural over-dyeing process. Instead of bleaching the fabric before dyeing, the dye is applied over the linen’s original natural color. This creates deeper, more nuanced shades and allows the character of the raw flax to remain visible.

Because the base color of natural linen varies slightly depending on the flax harvest, each dye lot may also vary subtly in tone. These natural variations are part of the character of the fabric.
